Readyline CAN Report
TRAINING USE ONLY
§ 03 · The rep trainer

The report Command actually needs.

A progress report is decision fuel for Command - and most of them come out long, buried, or incomplete. Reps fix that. Draw a scene, key up, and give your CAN.

Why this exists
Command runs the fireground on the reports coming out of the building. A good CAN report gives them the picture in one breath - conditions, actions, needs - and hands the channel back. A bad one buries what matters or ties up the radio when it's needed most. Nobody reps these, so everybody gives them cold. This is where you practice.
CAN rep

Read the situation.

Put yourself there. When you're ready, hit GO - the clock starts, and you key up and call it like you would on the radio.

The doctrine

Know the call cold.
